Elevate Technology Solutions is currently accepting applications for a Jr. Network Engineer to support our operations in Watertown, Ma.
This excellent opportunity requires that the ideal candidate to be customer focused, and willing to join a winning team.
The Jr. Network Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Act as the primary focal point for network problem resolution by assuming ownership of the Network Operations ticket queue.
Triage, support, and interface with customers to troubleshoot basic to moderate networking issues.
Perform incident resolution, ensuring appropriate response to escalations.
Respond quickly and appropriately to network operational alerts and events.
Responsible for supporting all network infrastructure including basic switching, routing, VPN, and Wi-Fi communications.
Responsible for incident, problem and change management of network related issues.
Manages 3rd party relationships relating to daily network operations (i.e. Juniper, Cisco, Comcast, AT&T, etc.)
Consults with other operations teams (server, endpoint, helpdesk) to ensure expedient ticket resolution.
Tracks and escalates open issues to more senior team members to ensure timely problem resolution.
Strict adherence to IT Service Management process and procedures pertaining to Network Operations, ie, change control
The Jr. Network Engineer must have the following skills:
2-3 years' experience directly supporting Cisco networks
Solid understanding and troubleshooting of network components/protocols, such as the TCP/IP protocol stack, IP Addressing, routing, switching, WAN, LAN, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.
Effective written and verbal skills
Excellent customer service skills
Analytical and detail oriented
The Jr. Network Engineer must meet the following
Qualifications:
Cisco Certified Entry Network Technician (CCENT) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification highly desired
