Windows/VMWare Administrator
We have an immediate contract opportunity with a large F500 client in the Watertown, MA area.
Job Description:
Works with IT Infrastructure team in aligning the IT vision with the business goals and strategies of the company.
Coordinates and manages outsourced technical support as it relates to IT infrastructure.
Performs and delegates system administrative duties for the IT infrastructure.
Can resolve 80% of service requests without assistance from senior staff members.
Access/Roles: Linux Admin, UNIX Admin, Storage Administrator, Backup Administrator, Domain Admin, VPN/Router/Firewall Admin, E-Mail Admin, Datacenter
Skills:
Two year degree in computer science or equivalent work experience in an IT environment.
Requires 4
years related professional IT experience.
Must have knowledge of systems installation and maintenance.
Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures.
Must possess communication skills to exchange information and resolve problems with clients/users/vendors.
Performs a variety of tasks.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
Demonstrates:

Strong Interpersonal Skills
Ability to work well under pressure & time constraints
Strong Organizational Skills
Ability to identify opportunities, technical risks and impacts of technology solutions
Ability to be on-call 24x7
Technical
Experience:
Experience with the configuration, deployment, and administration of Client-based server hardware.
Strong knowledge of Windows Server 2003/2008, VMware vSphere 4.x/5.x, Active Directory Services, DNS, Microsoft Exchange 2007/2010, Disaster Recovery concepts, High Availability concepts (i.e. failover clustering, load balancing, etc.) and Storage concepts (i.e. NAS/SAN) is required.
Any experience with CommVault Simpana, Microsoft SharePoint 2010, Information Security concepts/practices, Mimosa NearPoint, Client Blades, and Shavlik/VMware vCenter Protect Essentials is a plus.
