Elevate Technology Solutions is currently accepting applications for a Cisco VOIP Telecom Engineer to support our operations in Watertown, MA.

The Cisco VOIP Telecom Engineer will be responsible for the following:
Administering and maintaining the Cisco VoIP systems in a single cluster, multi-site enterprise of approximately 1,500 phones
Perform design reviews, vendor evaluations, system reviews, troubleshooting, and makes recommendations
Lead complex projects, managing them to ensure on-time, on-target delivery with desired results.
Evaluate, plan, process, install and coordinate the expansion or modification of Cisco VoIP communications equipment and associated hardware, software, carrier services and cabling for facilities.
Develop long-term strategies and capacity planning to meet future telecommunications network needs.
Ensure that processes conform within defined standards, and manage internal audits.
Act as a lead performing advanced analysis, diagnosis, and resolution of problems for all Telecommunications systems. Recommend and implement corrective action.
Interface on regular basis with internal customers to ensure quick problem resolution, converting their needs into technical solutions.
Identify opportunities for optimizing Cisco voice platforms effectiveness and functionality.
Document instances of software or hardware failure, repair, installation, and removal, and other work requests in compliance with Escalation and Notification policies.
Monitor Cisco voice platforms and provide monthly utilization and monitoring reports, making recommendations for improved service delivery.
Develop and test disaster recovery plans to detect faults, minimize malfunctions, and ensure systems perform as expected.
Manage trunk capacity and utilization; produce monthly reports to demonstrate usage.
Oversee service requests supporting install, adds, changes and incident repair.
Manage relationships with suppliers of telecom hardware, software, systems, and support services.
Create and maintain technical documentation including operational procedures, reference materials, research papers, disaster recovery plans and training documentation.

The Cisco VOIP Telecom Engineer must have the following skills:
High-level experience in Cisco CUCM 7.1+, Cisco Unity 7.x
and UCCX 7.x+, as well as a traditional telecom background is required.
Experience provisioning Cisco Voice Gateway platforms including VG224 and PRI/FXS/FXO interfaces.
Experience with Unity Connections preferred.
CCVP Certification a plus.
Experience performing major release upgrades on Cisco voice platforms a plus.
Experience with H323, MGCP, and SRST configuration and operation.
Knowledge of basic networking concepts including QoS, DNS, DHCP and TCP/IP.
A thorough understanding of T1, PRI, analog lines, LD PIC/LPIC concepts, and trunks.
Knowledge of common carrier services, telecommunications technologies, including voice processing, Automatic Call Distribution, call accounting and VoIP.
Knowledge of telecom billing.
Experience managing a TEM solution a plus.

The Cisco VOIP Telecom Engineer must meet the following
Qualifications:
Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience implementing, configuring, and troubleshooting Cisco Communication Manager, and Cisco Unity Voice Mail.
Minimum 5 years' hands-on experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco UCCX.
5
years' experience in a telecom environment provisioning analog lines and PRIs.
5
years' experience programming and troubleshooting traditional TDM PBX's.
